An Estonian actress, born in Kehra, Estonia. In 1982, she graduated from the Tallinn State Conservatory, Department of Performing Arts. She also worked as an associate professor of theatrical movement and dance. She was a dancer in the Tallinn program in 1976 and worked as a lecturer of dancing and theatre movement at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. She began teaching children's dance in Pärnu in 1982. In 1989, Mägi founded the dance troupe Lancy. In 1996, she founded the Laine Mägi Dance School and worked as head of the dance school, dancing instructor, and choreographer. She worked as a choreographer for other theatres. She is known for The Class (2007) and Teesklejad (2016).
