A South Korean director, born in Onyang, South Korea. His brother is the actor Ryu Seung-beom. Through his company, Filmmakers R&K, he has produced many popular Korean movies. He is known for Veteran (2015) and The Berlin File (2013). In 2005, he won the Busan Film Critics Association Award for Best Director and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for Crying Fist.
