South Korean director, born on December 15, 1973, in Onyang, South Korea. His brother is the actor Seung-beom Ryu. Through his company, Filmmakers R&K, he is also a creative and successful producer of numerous popular Korean movies. He is known for Veteran (2015), Escape from Mogadishu (2021), and The Berlin File (2013). Among his many awards and nominations, he won the Busan Film Critics Association Award for Best Director for his film, Crying Fist (2005), and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Cannes Film Festival for the same film. |
