American novelist, born on June 6, 1923, in Portsmouth, Virginia, USA. As a result of falling down the stairs in her school when she was a teenager, she was confined to a wheelchair for most of her life. She was able to complete a four-year correspondence course from her home and quickly became a successful artist and writer. Her first novel was called Gods of Green Mountain. She was known for Rain (2006), Flowers in the Attic (1987), and V.C. Andrews' Heaven (2019). She died on December 19, 1986, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, from breast cancer.
