A British-Canadian producer, director, and writer, born in London, England, United Kingdom. He immigrated to Canada from the United Kingdom in his mid-twenties, becoming a writer, director, editor, and producer. In 1976, he co-founded the Toronto production company Playing with Time with Linda Schuyler. He directed films such as School's Out! (1992) and Dancing on the Moon (1997) and TV series such as The Kids of Degrassi Street (1979–1986). He died on January 20, 2020, in West Lawrencetown, Canada.
