She is a Dutch director and writer, born in 1965 in Laag-Soeren, Netherlands. She studied at the Dutch Film Academy. She is known for Zus & Zo (2001), Black Butterflies (2011), and The Domino Effect (2012). She has won a lot of awards and nominations, including a nomination for an Academy Award as a director and screenwriter. Several of her films were nominated for Oscars.
