A German director, screenwriter, and producer, who also holds Italian citizenship. She was born in the town of Marbach am Neckar, Germany. After graduating from high school in 1998, she received several training courses in cinema and went to the Kulturprojekt Spielhaus acting school, in the German city of Stuttgart.
She studied directing at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg ( Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg) before receiving a scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation. She later founded the film production company Soilfilms and began writing, directing, and producing feature and documentary films, focusing on international co-productions between Germany and the USA.
