In 2001, she joined the Italian Air Force and subsequently trained at the U.S. Air Force's Sheppard Air Force Base to become a fighter pilot. After completing her training, she served, beginning in 2006, with the Fighter Aviation Wing at Istrana and the Air Wing at Amendola Airport.
