An Iraqi director, born in Baghdad. He completed his preparatory studies in Kirkuk and studied dentistry at the American University of Beirut, but he left it. He traveled to the United States of America to study theology to become a church cleric according to the wishes of his father and his family, but he changed that to study at the Goodman Theater Institute in Chicago to specialize in theater arts, and he obtained a degree from the institute. He returned to Baghdad in 1959 and was appointed in the same year as a teacher of acting and theater directing at the Institute of Fine Arts. He worked as director of the National Theater in the last days of his life, in addition to continuing to teach. Among his most important plays are Juha's Nail, Daughter of the Weaver, Delusional Patient, and Ghosts. He died in Baghdad in 1988.
