An Irish-American actress, singer, and performer, who began her career singing songs in films and joined popular vaudeville theaters, then moved to Hollywood, where she appeared in several films, such as the silent film After the Thin Man in 1936 and the film Swing Your Lady in 1938. She starred in a series of twenty-eight animated films as Blondie Bumstead from 1938 to 1950, and provided the voice of Jane Jetson in the cartoon series The Jetsons from 1962 to 1963. |
