British actor, playwright and broadcaster, born in Shropshire, England, on June 12, 1920. He was educated at Wim Grammer and Ellesmere College School, and practiced acting in the school theater. During the fifties and sixties, he contributed scripts for BBC radio, and also playing small roles in some films. Among his notable works are The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), Chariots of Fire (1981), and Comedy Playhouse (1962-1975). He died in Westminster, London, on April 10, 2000. |
