An American actress, born in Atlanta, USA. She is also a composer, singer, musician, and actress. She began singing with her siblings at the age of eight, and they called themselves the Pips band. She then turned to pop music after she began performing R&B music. Knight won the Grammy Award seven times and presented songs such as Every Beat of My Heart (1961), I Feel a Song (1974), and Love Overboard. Knight received an honorary doctorate from Shaw University.
