American actor, born on March 24, 1873, in Charleston, Illinois, USA. He appeared in over 200 films during the silent film era, between 1910 and 1930. He was a stock actor who early on gave up the theatre for film and started his film career in 1910 with the Selig Company in Chicago. He is known for The Penalty (1920), The Rosary (1915), and A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court (1921). He was married to Margaret Bechtel, and he passed away on March 24, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
