Shaimaa Saied |
A Canadian-American actress of Italian and Irish descent born in Toronto. When she was sixteen years old, her father died, and she and her mother immigrated to the United States, settling in Chicago. While appearing in a school play, she was discovered by Selig Polyscope Company, and at the age of 16 she made her debut in the short film When the Clock Went Wrong (1914), and by her twentieth birthday she was a movie star.
Her credits include The Gulf Between (1917), The Song of Life (1922), Daytime Wives (1923), and The Night Patrol (1926). She died of lung ailment on October 8, 1963 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
