She then attended Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. Where she studied music and Spanish before leaving to pursue a career in acting and music. She was seen in commercials and print ads. She started acting in 1979 through the movie The Ditchdigger's Daughters. Among her most famous works are: The Wonder Years and Erma Franklin in 2021.
