An American actor who was born in San Francisco, California, USA on December 11, 1920 as Edward William Firestone Jr. He died in Sherman Oaks, California, USA on March 1, 2007 from respiratory and heart failure. He married Mary Jean Sisich (1943-1949), and their marriage ended by divorce. His most important works are Barnaby Jones (1973-1977), Duel (1971), The Great Locomotive Chase (1956), and The Untouchables (1959). He began his career in radio at the age of 12 and later moved to film and television. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was discharged with the rank of captain. He attended Northwestern University, and his first work was the series Mixed Doubles (1949), while his first movie was The Jackpot (1959). His last work was the series Dallas (1990). He died in 2007 at the age of 86.
