American actor born in Alden, Iowa, on April 5, 1911. Gordon received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 for his television work. He was married once to Lucile Van Winkle and he did not have children. He began his film career in 1931, after which he appeared in numerous films till 1963, including Flying Tigers (1942), My Sister Eileen (1942) and The Green Hornet (1940). He also made many television appearances, including The Abbott and Costello Show (1952-1954). Jones died of a heart attack in 1963, at age 52. |
