An Indian actress, born in West Bengal. She moved to New Delhi when she was in the tenth grade, earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Delhi, Dyal Singh College, and studied acting with Kishore Namit Kapoor. Her work is not limited to Hindi cinema only, but has gone beyond that and worked in Tamil cinema, Telugu films, and Kannada films. Her most important works include James (2005), The Killer (2006), Psycho (2013), Ala Ila Ela (2023), and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007), in which she co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan.
