A British actress, born in Edgbaston, Birmingham, England. Her mother moved from Scotland to Birmingham during World War II to work as a munitions worker. She trained as an actress at East 15 School of Acting in Luton, Essex, and worked at the Southwold Summer Theatre during her time there. She appeared in the play Private Lives in the summer of 1970, which was considered her professional acting debut. She has appeared in numerous television roles, including Making Out (1989), Jackanory (1965), Archer's Goon (1992), The Demon Headmaster (1996), A Little Princess (1986), The Worst Witch (1998), The Queen's Nose (1995), and Coronation Street (1960), and the films Summerhill (2008) and Lace (1984).
