He began his acting career in the mid-1960s, and continued acting until the 1980s, appearing in films such as The Exorcist (1973), The Stepford Wives (1975), and Gardens of Stone (1987), after which he turned to directing, with works such as The Trip to Bountiful (1985) and Night Game (1989). He died of complications from Parkinson's disease on December 18, 2018. |
