An American actor born in Spokane, Washington, on June 27, 1907. John received the Western Heritage Award in 1968 and 1976. He was married twice and had two children. He's known for Psycho (1960), Winchester '73 (1950) and Turner & Hooch (1989). He focused on television from the mid-50s, as he made numerous appearances in TV series, including Naked City (1958-1959). John died of lung cancer and emphysema in 1991, at age 83. |
