British actor, born in Czechoslovakia on March 5, 1932. He got married to the actress Gwendolyn Watts (1920-1959), and she remained with him until her death. He had been in Britain from an early age, and studied acting in Birmingham before moving to London. In the mid-fifties, he worked in the Royal Shakespeare Company for Theater, the Arts Theater and the National Theatre, in addition to the intensity of his work in television drama. He was fluent in the dialects of Central Eastern Europe, so he often presented roles Spies and others. Among his most important works: Jack the Ripper (1988), Octopussy (1983), The Adventures of Ben Gunn (1958) and Top Secret! (1984). He died in London in 2008 at the age of 76.
