An Australian actress, born in Wagon, Western Australia. She studied theater and drama at Murdoch University in Perth. She began working in theater in 1979. She was a board member of the Australia Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Arts Board from 2008 to 2010. She was awarded the 2017 Red Ocher Award by the Australian Council for the Arts. She received an honorary Doctorate of Arts in 2018 from Edith Cowan University. Her works include The Sapphires (2012), Mad Bastards (2010), and Mystery Road: Origin.
