American actress, born in Jersey City, New Jersey. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theater from Birmingham Southern College in Alabama. Upon graduation, she began working on stage, making her debut at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. In the mid-1990s, she moved to New York City, where she made her Broadway debut playing "The Queen" in Cy Coleman's Michael Blackmore-directed musical.
