Shaimaa Saied |
An American politician and general who served as the thirty-fourth president of the United States from 1953 to 1961. He was Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in Europe during World War II, which ended with the defeat of Nazism. He grew up in a poor family in Texas. He enrolled in 1911 at West Point Military Academy and graduated in 1915 with the rank of second lieutenant.
He worked at the beginning of his career as an officer in the US Army, then rose quickly and was considered one of the pillars of the US forces in World War II (1943-1945). In his first term as president, he worked to end the Korean War, and his name was associated with the Middle East and the Arab world through the principle known as the "Eisenhower Doctrine." He appeared as himself in a number of works, including Hearts and Minds (1974). He died on March 28, 1969.
