An American actress and singer, born on November 18, 1948 in Manhattan, New York City, USA to Helen Stuart, a singer, and Eugene Marcovicci, an internist of Romanian descent. In her teens, she decided to become a singer but majored in drama instead. She dropped out of school and began working her way into showbiz as a singer and appeared on The Mike Douglas Show and The Merv Griffin Show.
As an actress, she first appeared in commercials and quickly became known for the TV series Love is a Many Splendored Thing (1970-1973). She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Acting Debut in a Motion Picture in 1977 for The Front (1976). Some of her other credits are The Concorde... Airport '79 (1979) and Velvet Buzzsaw (2019).
