A Mexican-Salvadoran actress, born in El Salvador. Her father was a Spanish refugee and professor of literature and social sciences, and her mother was a business manager from Mexico. She studied at the National Institute of Fine Arts and Letters (INBA) and the University Theater Center (CUT-UNAM). She made her acting debut in the early 1970s in the film Tomalo como quieras. In 1975, she moved to California, and during the 1970s, she became famous for her role as Rosita in the children's series Plaza Sésamo. Her most notable works include The Beginning and the End (1993), The Juror (1996), The Arrival (1996), and 'Til Death (1994). She won the Ariel Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Love Lies.
