A bestselling British-American novelist, born on May 10, 1933, in Leeds, Yorkshire, UK. After leaving high school, she joined a local newspaper and worked as an editor and columnist. She married American television producer Robert Bradford in 1963. In 1979, her first novel, "Woman of Substance," was published and has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Several of her books were made into television mini-series and television movies, such as Act of Will (1989) and Hold the Dream (1986).
