A French actress, born in Paris. After school, she worked in a factory from the age of 15, then in bars and restaurants. She also worked in a pharmacy in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, then moved to the Bastille, where she lived for nearly 80 years. Renée made her film debut in 1992, at the age of 74, in the film Riens du tout. With When the Cat's Away (1996), she gained even greater fame, playing an elderly Bastille woman distraught over the loss of the cat given to her by a neighbor. Since then, she has appeared in more than 30 film and television productions, such as Quatre étoiles (2006), La boîte (2001), Les insaisissables (2000), and the series Docteur Dassin, généraliste (2004). She died on June 8, 2019, in Paris.
