A New Zealand actress, born in London, United Kingdom, she began acting as a teenager. She studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), where she met her husband, an engineer, and spent ten years in Calcutta, India, where he was stationed during World War II. Returning to New Zealand, she played a few small roles in theater, television, and radio, but her acting career was secondary to her family. When her husband died in the mid-1980s, she began devoting more time to acting, appearing in works such as Death in Brunswick (1990), Typhon's People (1993), The Chosen (1998), and Shortland Street (1992). She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 1995. She died on May 21, 1999, in Auckland, New Zealand.
