A Turkish actor and one of Turkey's most successful comedians, he was born in Istanbul. He graduated from Pertevniyal High School and continued his education at the Faculty of Law and Literature in Istanbul. He began his career in 1964 at the Ulvi Uraz Theater. In 1967, he co-founded the Devekuşu Kabare Tiyatrosu Theater and has been its managing director ever since. In 1998, the Turkish government awarded him the title of State Artist. He participated in several works, such as the movie Kisik Ateste 15 Dakika (2006), Güle Güle (2000), Dongel Kârhanesi (2005), and the series Papatyam (2009-2011).
