A British film and television actor, born in Kensington, London, England as John Vere Biggar. Among his notable credits are The Duchess of Malfi (1949), BBC Sunday-Night Theater (1950), and David Copperfield (1956). He made his debut in the movie I See a Dark Stranger (1946) and ended his career with the series Hancock's Half Hour (1956- 1959). He died in 1961, at the age of 45 from an overdose of sleeping pills.
