A British Actor born in Southport, Lancashire on October 12, 1950. He won the ESBFA Award in 1976. He was married to the actress Leonie Mellinger, and their marriage ended in divorce. He is an English actor and writer, born the eldest son of two parents, the father served in the Royal Navy during World War II, and the mother served in the Royal Marines Women. He is the nephew of comedian Robb Wilton. He lived on the island of Gozo off the coast of Malta for many years, where he enjoys swimming for long distances, owned a yacht on the island. His most important works include: Confessions of a Window Cleaner (1974), Carry On Girls (1973), Bless This House (1972) and U-571 (2000).
