An English actress born in Streatham, on 11 November 1925. She was married to Tim Aitchison in 1955 and had a daughter, and he remained with her until his death in 2001. June won the 1994 British Comedy Award for Outstanding Career Achievement for her entire career. She had a long and successful career, including film, musical theater, and numerous radio and television shows. She was born to passionate amateur actors, she took lessons in reciting and dancing at an early age. She attended Streatham Hill High School, then St Michael's School. She moved with her parents to Heider Sfeld, where she learned stenography and typography. She went on to study secretarial at Pittman College. In 1944, she graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and worked in theater. At a time when radio was more popular than television, in the early 1950s she became a name in radio comedy. Among her most important works: Absolutely Fabulous (1992-2012), Carry On Abroad (1972) and Carry On Columbus (1992). She died in 2018 in a nursing home at the age of 93.
