Among his most important works are: Help! (1965), The Return of the Pink Panther (1975) and The Fifth Element...Read more (1997). He is a Polish radio, stage, television and film actor, comedian, and voice artist. He is best known for his 6-decade career internationally in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. During the golden age of British television, he became famous for his comedy work in Britain. He was born to a Jewish family. Due to anti-Semitism in Poland, his family emigrated to Melbourne, Australia in 1938 when he was 9 years old. He was educated at Princess Hill Central School, High School and University in Parkville. He began his acting career in the Yiddish Melbourne Theater. His first appearance was in the movie The Mouse on the Moon (1963) and Doctor in Distress (1963). He participated in three works in the Carry On series, including Carry On Spying 1964, and continued his work on television, theater and cinema. He settled in Australia with his family, working until before his death in 2018 at the age of 89.
