A British actress, writer, director, and film producer. She was born in Suffolk, England, United Kingdom. She is the daughter of graphic novelist Jennifer Lush and photographer Mark Fiennes. Her siblings are Jacob Fiennes, an environmental activist, Sophie Fiennes, a documentary filmmaker, Magnus Fiennes, and actors Ralph and Joseph Fiennes. Her first feature film as a filmmaker was Onegin (1999), which was based on the literary poem Eugene Onegin by Alexander Pushkin and starred her brother Ralph. The film was much praised and won Best Newcomer at the London Film Critics Circle and Best Filmmaker at the Tokyo Film Festival. She is best known for Chromophobia (2005) and Yugen (2018).
