When he joined the army, he discovered his singing talent, and following his discharge, he joined a singing group, The George Mitchell Singers, and appeared in a number of musical plays. He later gave up singing and focused on acting. He debuted on the West End stage in 1958. He released one song that achieved great success, “Follow that Girl,” in 1960. He presented 14 musical plays until 1969. His first television appearance was on BBC Sunday-Night Theatre (1953) and his first cinematic appearance was in A Kid for Two Farthings (1955). His last movie was Carry On Columbus (1992), and his last work was the television movie On Dangerous Ground (1996). He died in London, England, United Kingdom, on February 3, 2013.
