A Canadian writer, poet, and actress, born on May 4, 1962, in Champaign, Illinois, USA, and raised in Toronto. She has lived and worked in Vancouver, Edmonton, Harbin, and Yanji and made her home in Toronto. She began her artistic career in Toronto in the early 1980s, performing with companies such as Upstage Theatre, Toronto Free Theatre, and Canadian Artists Group. In the 1990s, she was active as a cultural equity advocate and a new theater producer. Her acting career began to blossom in the early 2000s with small roles in several television series. She is best known for her work on the sitcom Kim's Convenience.
