An American film, stage and television actor, born in New York, USA. He appeared in many Broadway productions, and in most of his films he played the roles of a taxi driver, bookie, or policeman. He worked on Broadway from 1927 until 1940. He's known for playing the role of a chatty taxi driver in 20 films in cinema. Among his notable works are King of the Underworld (1939), The Maltese Falcon (1941) and Saboteur (1942). He died on November 16, 1984 in Los Angeles, California, USA, at age 80. |
