American actor, born in San Francisco, California, on January 25, 1927. Palmer was married to Ruth Stump Brooks (1967-1999) and had no children, and she remained with him until her death. He began his film career in 1950, and was known for working in westerns. He focused on television from the 50s, including his role in the TV series Gunsmoke (1958-1975). He's known for The Rebel Set (1959), Magnificent Obsession (1954) and Big Jake (1971). He died in 2015, at age 88.
