American actress, born in Chatham, New York, on March 9, 1918. Chapman received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960 for her acting career. She was married twice and did not have children. She began her career as a model, then worked in films since 1940. She's known for A Man's World (1942), Parachute Nurse (1942) and The Seven Year Itch (1955). She made many television appearances from the 50s till 1977. Chapman died in 1999, at age 81.
