Jenna Ushkowitz is a South Korean-born American actress. She was born on April 28, 1986, in Seoul. She was adopted when she was three months old and raised in East Meadow, New York. Her mother, Judi, was a secretary-turned-housewife, while her father, Brad, was in transportation-industry sales. Jenna attended elementary school at the Parkway School in East Meadow, then she studied at Holy Trinity Diocesan High School, a Catholic school in Hicksville, Long Island. When she was a child, she launched her career in print ads, starting with an ad for Playskool's Dress Me Up Ernie doll, after which she did a TV commercial for Toys "R" Us. She also did commercials for Burger King and Hess Toy Truck. In 2007, she graduated from Marymount Manhattan College, from which she earned a BA in theatre arts with a concentration in performance and a minor in musical theatre. As an actress, she is best known for Glee (2009-2015), Yellow Fever (2017), and Glee: Director's Cut Pilot Episode (2009).
