Maryam Nouhy |
An American actress born in Frederick, Maryland. She began her career at the Brooklyn Opera House and then performed on Broadway and toured several states, as well as Australia and South Africa. She made her film debut at a later time in her life on the silent film Allan Quatermain (1919). In the early 1930s, she appeared in her first talking film The Eyes of the World (1930). She's best known for playing Granny Jones in the Jones Family series. Other notable works of hers include March of the Wooden Soldiers (1934) and Les Misérables (1935). She married Walter Gale and they had one child. She died on 6 June 1940 in Hollywood, California. |
