She is an American actress, born on August 29, 1952, in Schenectady, New York, USA. In 1970, she graduated from Shaker High School in Latham, New York. She holds a BA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. She joined the folk band Spur Of The Moment when she was a teen and sang in coffeehouses. She performed in a local duet called "The Myrtle Avenue Watermelon" while in college. She gained recognition with her first appearance in The Warriors (1979), and she is also known for Too Close for Comfort (1980-1985).
