A British film and television actor, voice actor and translator, born in Manchester, England, United Kingdom. He worked mainly in Italian cinema. He settled in Italy during World War II as an officer in the British Royal Army. He was fluent in Italian, and often dubbed his own voice in both Italian and English. He married Lydia A M Federici (1947-1999) and they had a daughter, who remained with him until he died. Among his notable credits are The Night Porter (1974), Robot Jox (1989) and Django (1966). He died on October 6, 1998 in Rome, Italy, at age 77.
