An Indian actress, born to a Muslim family in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. Her father is a doctor, and her mother is a bank executive. She continued her studies in her hometown and then moved to Mumbai. She has appeared in South Indian cinema, known as Telugu cinema, as well as Tamil cinema. Her first film was Jayam, for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. It is a Telugu language film. She then appeared in a Tamil film of the same name in 2003. Her most notable works include Click (2010), Arakshaka (2012), and Aadikeshava (2023).
