A British actor, born in Tottenham, North London, to a Tamil father and an English mother. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (1988–1991), London. He appeared as Jesus in The Gospel of John (2014), studying various historical and academic sources in preparation for the role, and filming spanned five years. He has appeared on stage in the West End and the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in plays such as An Adventure and The Riots. He has also appeared in several TV series, such as Doctor Who (2005), EastEnders (2018), Bodies (2023), and Joseph (1995). He appeared in several films, such as Damascus Cover (2017) and Profile (2018).
