A British actor born in Norwich, Norfolk, UK. He began his career as a child actor before reaching success as a teenager, as he was trained by Rank Studios. He then studied at Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts Ltd. His first theater appearance was in Peter Pan at 12 years old. He worked as a theater jockey at 14 years old and made his first onscreen appearance at 15 on the film Red Wagon (1933). His notable works include Henry V (1944), Holiday Camp (1947), Don't Ever Leave Me (1949), and The Blue Lamp (1950). He also appeared on several TV series including Jim's Inn (1957-1963). He was married twice and had six children. He died of pancreatic cancer on 13 January 1970 in Fetcham, Surrey, UK.
