After attending St Leonard's College in Brighton East, Victoria, she studied drama at Flinders University in South Australia from 1971 to 1973, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts...Read more in 1974. She has studied ballet, singing, piano, speech and drama. Some of her credits include The Mule, Ladies in Black, and Little Fish. She married director Kevin James Dobson from 1975 till 1978. Then she married actor John Jarratt from 1988 till 1999, and they had two children. She received the A.M. Award. (Member of the Order of Australia) in the Queen's New Year Honors List 1995 for services to the performing arts as an actress, director and children's television presenter.
