He immigrated to the United States in the 1920s and worked in film and television as a stunt performer, especially in Western movies, where he specialized in dangerous horseback riding. He trained his sons and daughters, as well as his grandchildren, to ride horses and perform stunts in films. John Epper died in Santa Clarita, California, USA, on December 3, 1992, from prostate cancer at the age of 86.
